“Dungeon Master – Chaos Strikes Back” is an expansion pack and a standalone sequel to the revolutionary role-playing game “Dungeon Master,” developed by FTL Games. Released in 1989, this follow-up builds directly on the original’s innovative real-time gameplay, complex puzzles, and immersive dungeon-crawling experience.
The Japanese distributor, “Victor Musical Industries” (also known as JVC), commissioned Comix Brand to create a new illustration for the expansion, aiming to distinguish it from the main game. This variant for the Japanese market adopts the art style of Darrow’s original, although it does not quite achieve the level of detail of the original, it is a nice addition to the lore of “Dungeon Master.”
